Getting to Know You: Members of the CAC

MH - One of my fondest memories as a parent was the Zermatt ski trip.  It was wonderful to spend time with our daughter on the slopes and get to know other parents and their families during the week.  Staying at the hotel with everyone offered a fun and relaxing setting allowing for impromptu gatherings over the week.  A definite highlight.  I also enjoyed touring around Switzerland before attending the parent's weekend in October.  We followed the itinerary of the student's orientation tour (well, maybe different hotels), which was a fun and memorable road trip.

SM - Definitely the fondue! And the skiing, which I availed myself of as much as possible. And the feeling of independence, adventure and discovery whether planning weekend trips or just trying to figure out how to get to school from our pension the first couple of times. 

MH - I hope my time on the CAC, as chair of the Governance Committee, will leave a solid foundation for governance policies and decision making which will assist NJC moving forward.

SM - The school continues to be an incredible opportunity for students to grow as young people and learn about their place in the world while having fun and interesting experiences but we, like all independent schools, need support from our alumni to continue to be able to offer the best experience possible. I plan to continue our work in spreading the word about how alumni can help NJC both financially and with referrals of potential new students to the school. 

MH - The CAC is comprised of a group of enthusiastic, successful and eclectic individuals who have a common goal - ensuring the continuing success and prosperity of NJC. Working alongside such a dedicated and talented group of individuals has been both inspiring and rewarding. If you have a passion for NJC and would like to give back, I would highly recommend joining the CAC.

SM - Just do it! Being a volunteer with NJC helps bring back all those great memories from your time there, and helps grow the school for future generations.

 

MH - The prettiest city in Switzerland is Lucerne.
