Ms. Vanessa Persaud

Originally from Scarborough, Ontario, Ms Persaud. has been teaching in various places around Ontario and the world for over a decade.

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in cognitive science and computer science and her Education degree from the University of Toronto, Ms Persaud combined her passions for education and travel by spending several years teaching communications technology in Malaysia, and senior math and English in China.  She then returned to Canada to complete an M.Ed. at the University of Windsor, with a focus on curriculum integration. While working for a school board in southwestern Ontario, she also pursued a specialist in Guidance and Career education.

As a strong advocate of holistic education, Ms. Persaud has led many extracurricular activities, including the Editorial Board, where she helped students develop yearbooks and school-branded memorabilia. Recently, Ms. Persaud worked with the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI), helping students learn about local charities and ways to contribute to their communities.

Ms. Persaud is very excited about working at NJC while living in Switzerland with her husband, David, and two sons, Jean-Pierre and Alexandre.
