Mr. Ian Esquivel

Guidance Counsellor / English Teacher
B.A., University of Guelph, English and History.
B.Ed, University of Toronto
Ian is delighted to return to NJC after three years back in Toronto. Over the course of his four previous years at the school, he taught Economics, World Issues, Drama, Writers’ Craft, and English, as well as having been the Director of Guidance. In addition, he was the Staff Advisor for the Foyer Council, a role he loved because of the wonderful interactions he had with students.  At the Toronto District School Board, Ian held leadership positions as Head of English, Gifted Program Coordinator, Instructional Leader, and Curriculum Leader. He also taught Media Communication to teachers at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

Neuchâtel feels like home to Ian. He has made friends at school and outside of it. He even played in a local band for two years. He also never tires of seeing the Alps from his classroom window. However,
he has become tired of Fondue. This time around, his partner Adrienne and dog Lou are able to join him for a lengthy visit.
